Norsk standard for Anestesi (NSA) ble utarbeidet første gang i 1991. Revisjoner ble utført i 1994, 1998, 2005, 2010, 2016 og nå sist i 2022 (høringsdokumentet).

På årsmøtet i 2021 ble det vedtatt å sette ned en arbeidsgruppe med utspring i Anestesiutvalget, som skal utarbeide et revidert forslag til Standard for anestesi i Norge.
